The summer of '96 is fast upon us, and Orlando's theme parks are unveiling major new attractions for the vacation set. Roller coasters, a pseudo Key West, King Tut's Tomb, and lakeside parks are among the new additions to Central Florida's theme-park country.

Dry Tortugas: scenic spot
now reachable by ferry

Key West might be the end of the road, but the Dry Tortugas, 68 miles to the west, are really the outermost point of Florida.

Until recently, getting to the Tortugas meant taking a seaplane, chartering a boat or taking your own boat. Now a ferry is running from Key West to the Tortugas four days a week. It's a trip well worth the money to enjoy a pristine national park with some of the best birdwatching, snorkeling and swimming in the country.
