  • ELEMENTARY SUMMER SCHOOL WILL RUN JULY 8 TO AUG. 2 (8:30 A.M. TO 3 P.M., EXCEPT WEDNESDAY, WHEN CLASSES END AT 2 P.M.).

  • Middle schools will stay open five days longer this summer, from July 8 to Aug. 9 (9 a.m. to 3:40 p.m.).

  • High schools will hold summer school from July 2 to Aug. 13 (7:25 a.m. to 1:05 p.m.).

  • For the first time, kindergarten and first grade will stay in school until 3 p.m., except for Wednesdays. In the past, summer school ended for them at 2 p.m.

  • Before- and after-school care will be offered as usual in elementary schools with summer programs. Morning care starts an hour before summer school (about 6 a.m., depending upon the school) and after-school care runs until 6 p.m. The before-school care costs $10 a week; after-school care is $25 weekly.
