Dolphins rank 2nd in valueFrom Staff and Wire Reports The Miami Dolphins are the second-most valuable team in sports among North American professional teams, behind only the Super Bowl champion Dallas Cowboys.Financial World magazine reported Wednesday in its annual appraisal of sports franchises that the Cowboys' value increased by 14 percent from $238 million to $272 million. After the Dolphins, next in value were the New York Yankees at $209 million, the New York Knicks at $205 million and the Baltimore Ravens at $201 million. The San Francisco 49ers were sixth at $196 million.
The Florida Marlins were 75th at $98 million and the Miami Heat 77th at $97 million. The Florida Panthers were 108th of the 111 teams ranked, with a value of $45 million.
Wide receiver Charles Jordan, one of the standouts in Miami's two non-contact camps, broke a small bone near his right wrist Tuesday. He practiced in a soft cast Wednesday and is expected to be at full strength in three weeks. When fans get their pocket-size Dolphin schedules, it won't take more than a second to see who is running the show.
Johnson, dressed in a black suit with a Dolphins logo in the background, is pictured from the chest up, looking like a presidential candidate. Seeing as though he's replaced Howard Schnellenberger, Tom Landry and Don Shula, that might be the next step. |
