UPCOMING AT THE EDGE

The club opens at 9 p.m. Thursday-Saturday at 200 W. Broward Blvd., Fort Lauderdale. Call (954) 525-9333. Concerts can be any day of the week; cover varies. Here's some of what you can look forward to:

  • Spacehog with Marry Me Jane (8 p.m. Saturday): Headliners Spacehog perform from the hit alt-rock hit CD, Resident Alien; if you saw the movie If Lucy Fell -- all two of you -- you might remember Marry Me Jane's music from the soundtrack.

  • The Presidents of the United States of America (8 p.m. Wednesday): Alternative rockers have a double-platinum CD; find out why at 8 p.m. Wednesday. (SOLD OUT.)

  • Dimension (May 22): An old-school house music event and pre-party for Planet e; first 100 people through the door get a copy of Electro Phunk, a new CD by resident DJ Mike Sharpe.

  • The Return to Planet e (May 25): Stock up on your energy boosters, people, this is a mega rave party. The first Planet e extravaganza in March had 4,000 club kids streaming in like lemmings; this sequel begins at 2 a.m., lasts until noon and features live performances by Uberzone and Stryke and guest DJs. Teens 16 and older are welcome starting at 4:30 a.m. (that's when the booze stops flowing, but who needs booze at that hour?)

  • Local Bands on the Outer Edge (May 31): Orgasmic Bliss and The Goods perform on the outside patio.

  • Ed Matus' Struggle (June 7): Summer tour kickoff show.

  • Local/National Summer Punk Rock Fest (June 20): An all-ages show featuring Against All Authority, The Crumbs, Pink Lincolns, Gotohells.
