Want to spend some time in the great outdoors, but not be too far from the comforts of home?

Public parks in Broward, Dade and the Everglades offer camping opportunities from primitive to pampering.

There are campgrounds that require you to bring everything with you -- and then pack out all your trash. Others will furnish you with tents, coolers and even a boat.

Now's a good time to reserve campground space -- before the mosquitoes and heat chase you and your family back indoors.
