POLICE REPORT

MIRAMAR

Resident shot: A gunman shot a man in the leg during an armed robbery at a house in the 3400 block of Bahama Drive about April 30. The man was treated and released from the hospital, police said. The gunman and accomplice walked into the house about 8:35 p.m. and fired two shots, hitting the man in the leg with one of them as the man lay on a couch. The two men then robbed the man of about $4,000 in cash, a cellular telephone and a bracelet. The robbers drove away in a 1996 Toyota Camry that was being rented by a woman staying at the house. The woman was present during the robbery, but was not hurt. The value of the stolen property was not determined at the time of the report.

Armed robbery: A gunman robbed the Family Dollar Discount, 6830 Miramar Pkwy., of about $400 in cash about 7 p.m. April 30. Employees told police the man walked into the store and asked to use the bathroom. The man was told he could not. The man then tried to sell a watch to the store manager, but she declined. The man then walked up to an assistant manager, pulled out a gun and demanded all the money from the cash register. The assistant manager said the register was empty. The gunman then forced an employee to open the store safe and took the money before running away.

TV, VCR, stereo taken: A burglar pried open the front door to a home in the 8800 block of S. Crescent Drive between 2:30 and 3:30 p.m. April 30 and took a television set, a videocassette recorder and stereo equipment. The stolen property was valued at $1,800, the owner said.
PEMBROKE PINES

Home burglary: A burglar pried open the rear sliding glass doors to a home in the 200 block of Southwest 64th Terrace and took about $5,000 in property. The burglary was reported about 11:48 p.m. April 30, and the types of items taken were not determined at the time.

Gun stolen: A thief broke the door lock on a 1988 Sterling parked in the 300 block of North University Drive between 3 and 3:30 p.m. April 28 and took a Glock .45-caliber handgun. The value of the weapon was not determined at the time of the report.

Car taken: A thief took a 1989 Chevrolet Celebrity parked in the 1200 block of Southwest 134th Way between 12:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. April 27. The car was worth about $4,000, the owner said.

Radio, radar detector taken: A thief broke into a car parked in the 11200 block of Northwest 14th Court and took a radio and radar detector valued at a total of $600, the owner said. The theft was reported about 4:30 p.m. April 29.
