BROWARD HOMETOWN Phone, clothes gone: A thief broke into a 1996 Dodge Caravan in the 300 block of North Federal Highway around 1:30 a.m. April 17 and took a cellular phone valued at $425 and a suitcase valued at $50 containing a suit and shoes valued at $325. HALLANDALE Cellular phone lifted: A thief reached into the open window of an unattended 1985 Chevrolet Caprice in the 900 block of West Hallandale Beach Boulevard between 3:55 and 4 p.m. April 26 and took a cellular phone valued at $300 from the seat.Minibike stolen: A thief smashed a window to enter King International Financial, 972 W. Hallandale Beach Blvd., around 10:55 p.m. April 30 and took a minibike valued at $2,500. Gold bracelets gone: A thief broke into a house in the 500 block of Three Islands Boulevard sometime between 1 p.m. April 5 and 9 a.m. May 1 and took two gold bracelets valued at $800 and $300 from a dresser and $180 in coins from a container in the closet. HOLLYWOOD Woman robbed: A robber dragged a woman to the ground and took her fanny pack as she tried to enter Food Mart, 1620 N. Federal Hwy., between 8 and 8:47 a.m. April 20. The woman suffered shoulder and elbow injuries. The bag contained $20 cash and credit cards.Bike, cassette player stolen: Someone cut a screened back porch of a house in the 800 block of Hollywood Boulevard around 5:43 p.m. April 20 and took a bike, cassette player and potted plants, all of unclaimed value, from the porch area. Gold chain snatched: A robber snatched a gold chain valued at $125 from a woman's neck and took her purse valued at $20 and containing $16 cash and ID as she tried to get into her car in the 5700 block of Pembroke Road around 11:29 p.m. April 21. The man grabbed her car door to prevent her from getting in, then took the items. Robbery outside bank: A man pointing an object into a woman's back took $150 cash in a bank envelope from her in the 2600 block of North State Road 7 around 10:22 a.m. April 22. The robber got away in a waiting car. PEMBROKE PARK Van window smashed: A thief broke a padlock on a fence around Multi Entertainment Production, 2000 SW 30th Ave., between 10:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. April 6, then smashed a window to enter a 1990 Ford van. Nothing was taken from the van.
UNINC. S. BROWARDVCR, stereo lifted: A thief forced open a window of a house in the 100 block of Edmund Road between 6:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. April 17, then took a VCR valued at $225, stereo valued at $179, two suitcases valued together at $105, a 1960 baseball memorabilia collection of unknown value and $5 in coins.VCR, phone taken: A thief broke a back-door lock of an apartment in the 5400 block of Southwest 20th Street between 8:30 and 11:45 a.m. April 17 and carried away a cellular phone valued at $300 and VCR valued at $300 in a plastic trash bag.
